The Fremont County Pioneer Association was the first organization of its type in Wyoming, and has a rich history:
  • Pioneers in the area organized to preserve their history in 1886;
  • Wyoming's first and oldest museum was built by Pioneers - a log cabin that still stands on the grounds of the Museum of the American West;
  • Today's Fremont County Pioneer Association members continue to preserve the history of Fremont County by holding fund raisers, applying for grants, working on historical research projects and volunteering at the Fremont County Pioneer Museum and the Museum of the American West.

Activities and Shared Events:

  • Recently, our main focus has been restoring and preserving the original museum cabin in celebration of its 100-year Anniversary - 1915-2015.
  • To celebrate our 100-year Anniversary - 1915-2015 - members of the Fremont County Pioneer Association and the Fremont County Pioneer Museum recently designed a beautiful silver 100-Year Commemorative Coin to raise funds for the museum. You will help preserve the history of Fremont County by purchasing a coin for yourself. For more information, please click the icon below:
